Vandercook No. 4 Press, Ready to Print

Selling my beloved Vandercook No. 4 proof press, a well-maintained, professionally used press that has been a part of my studio for many years. I purchased the press from the late Don Black in Toronto, a respected figure in the letterpress community. I’ve been used it to print work for numerous artists and private clients as well as editions for the Whitney Museum.

It has always been carefully maintained and is a complete, smooth-running press that is ready to go directly into production. It simply needs to be plugged into a standard 110V outlet, inked up, and it’s ready to print. The rollers are in good condition, and the sale includes a 12 x 16” gridded Boxcar base and Paul Moxon’s Vandercook operating manual.

The press is located on the ground floor of a private home just north of Boston, making loading easy-ish. It can be viewed by appointment. Pickup only. Buyer is responsible for transportation and moving.
