I am selling my 1903 Golding Improved #11 letterpress. I’m a retired printer who had planned to dabble in letterpress upon retirement, but my interests have gone in another direction. Before I became its owner, it was adorning the lobby of a print shop.
It is missing the treadle, as it has been fitted for motorized operation, but the motor and belts are missing. Several of the original linkage components on the right side are also missing.
I’ve refinished the exterior door of the roller storage cabinet, and the feed tables, but both are original.
It includes a 7 x 11 chase, and 3 roller cores - with trucks. As rare as this press is, it also has a hard-to-find ink fountain.
The press weighs about 800 pounds, so arrangements will need to be made for pick-up in Minnesota. Asking price is $2000.
