Tabletop Platen Press, Kansas/Midwest

Calligrapher and small business owner in Topeka, Kansas, looking for a tabletop platen press to add letterpress to my studio. I run a wedding and event signage business and teach pointed pen calligraphy, so this press will be used regularly, cleaned, and cared for.

Models I’m hoping for (5x8 bed or larger):

Chandler & Price Pilot
Craftsman tabletop
Adana 8x5
Kelsey Excelsior 5x8, 6x10, or 9x13

Working condition preferred, but I’m open to a press that needs rollers or light restoration. Chases, rollers, furniture, quoins, type, or ink are welcome as a package. I’m also interested if you’re downsizing a whole shop.

I can pick up within a day’s drive of Topeka (KS, MO, NE, OK, IA, CO, AR) and will consider a crated shipment from farther away. Happy to talk through the press’s history; I’d love to give it a good home.
