Hi, does anyone know if the Thompson British Auto Platen is collectable please? we have recently discovered one in an old barn-its huge!Is it worth selling to a collector or scrapping? Any advise appreciated on value/collectors etc, thanks.
If its not in working order, I very much doubt if a collector would be interested.
T. C. Thompson the makers went out of business in the early 1990s, I was a works manager at that time in the UK, and at one time we had 3 of them, and spares were difficult to locate then, even in the home country.
Maybe you could consider offering it for spares; but failing that I think its a scrapheap calling.
It seems such a shame to scrap it! No idea if it works at all! would take photos etc if anyone may be interested in looking at all? Thanks.
