Melting down lead & slugs
Hi y’all!
We’re looking for someone to melt down a bunch of lead/slugs to start fresh. Can anyone refer someone to us? (Austin TX area)

Hey. It is good to see some printers in Austin. I’m moving down their next year.
There are a couple people still running Elrods. I guess it would depend on how many pounds of material you have. Dave Churchman has some casting going on, Fritz at NA Graphics is probably the best person to call though, as he has been searching for a new source of slug and rule material.
I know there are a fair number of people with monotype/linotype equipment, but I don’t know who has working Elrods these days. I’m in the process of seeing if I can make the American Typecaster’s Fellowship meeting in September, so I can ask there if I end up going. Good luck!
