Heidelberg Windmill Motor Drive Guard

I recently obtained a 10x15 windmill and it is in working condition except I needed to replace the three phase motor with a single phase. I have bought a single phase motor to replace it however I am having great difficulty removing the belt guard from the old motor. The bolts and screws have stripped. I was wondering if I can purchase some sort of belt guard for electric motors that would serve to keep the V-belt in its proper place.

Need more info to help. Heidelbergs usually run with a flat belt and a variable speed pulley on the motor. If you are using a V-belt then your motor pulley has to line up with the press pulley/flywheel. A BELT GUARD is for safety only and should not touch the belt or it will cause damage.

I am replacing the motor and the belt guard will not come off the old motor, I was wondering if anyone knows where to buy a similar belt guard, perhaps there is some confusion on what I am calling the belt guard, I am referencing the disc and spring assembly that is literally screwed onto the motor.

That sounds like the variable speed pulley. They are available through your local electric motor shop or a bearing and gear dealer. Don’t know where you are but here in Canada the nearest city has a pop. of only 70,000 and there are a few places that could help out. Try your yellow pages or wait for more posts on this topic.

Any chance you still have the 3-phase motor and want to sell it?
