Which size of C&P? 7x11, 8x12, 10x15, 12x18 or 14.5x22?
You can only exceed these dimensions at the top of the platen by printing a partial sheet. I’ve heard of some one rigging up a C&P for roll fed paper, but I don’t think that would help you with a broadside.
Then as a practical matter, you can’t fill the whole chase with type and cuts. A rule of thumb is 1/3 to 1/2 of the chase is the maximum form size. Any more and your going suffer poor print quality and/or risk damaging the press.

There are so-called skeleton chases available for C&P and other platen presses. 9x13 to fit 8x12 press, 11x16 to fit 10x15 press, etc,
