EMBOSOGRAF EMBOSSING PRESS VINTAGE SIGN MACHINE

Can any one give me some information on this? It’s a Embosoraf embossing manual sign machine . How does it work? Does it require some form of type or font? It comes with two large, heavy duty aluminum plates .Any information would be most helpful.

Thanks in advance!
Dee

Hi Dee,
Here in England we have a similar machine made by Masseeley. There are different sized machines and two different processes. One machine is a hot foil type, the other (and yours looks like this) is a machine for making showcards. You need a special type with raised sharp(ish) edges. Then you place your card with a layer of coloured or gold/silver paper into the machine. Then pull the lever down and it embosses the type into the card and can also press the second colour paper into the base layer to give a two colour effect.
Quite popular I believe in large department stores and the like.
Best,
Jeremy.

Thanks Jeremy!!
