C&P New Series 14 1/2 x 22

We now have this press and need to move it to it’s new home. I am looking for an estimate of the weight. The machine is complete but not fully assembled. If any one could help me out I would really appreciate it. I am hoping to set it in a full size pickup instead of renting a large truck. I have about an 1800 # payload capacity. Thank you.

A New Style 14 1/2 x 22 is listed with a weight of 2700 lbs. You might be able to shed some weight with removal of the flywheel and ink disk/fountain. You would probably be better to rent a tilt bed trailer and a couple come-alongs (and plenty of blocking). Put the press on long skids and roll off trailer on pipes (using come-alongs to control movement). Or have a forklift as both ends.

Have a safe move!

Don’t try to move this in the bed of your truck. It will ruin your vehicle in a matter of minutes. As mentioned above, you’ll want to rent a trailer with a properly rated capacity and make sure your truck is capable of towing the combined weight. Look for what’s called an ‘escalate’ trailer from Bil-Jax—they descend flat to the ground and the smallest one is rated to hold 4000 lbs.

Good luck!

Brad.
