Name the font contest- letter A

My father was a hobby printer/collector and after a 3 year break I am starting to sell some of the shop on Ebay. I would love some help with identifying some fonts so I may list the items better.

I was going through the oprhan pile and found an A and some other letter ( no clue what the other one is).

The font looks so modern to me, but yet the wood definitely has that old wood smell to it.

I went through my Rob Roy Kelly book to no avail.

Any information would be great.

If you need them to add to a font that you own let me know and maybe we can work something out.

Thanks!

An extended ‘D’ & ‘L’, looks like Aldine Expanded possibly by Page or Hamilton. Turn photo 90 degrees.

This face does show up in the 1888 Specimens of the Wm. H. Page Wood Type Co. and is listed as Aldine Expanded. It also shows up in Hamilton’s c. 1907 catalog, but by then it was simply given a number, which was No. 76.

Aldine Expanded was first shown as wood type by William H. Page in his 1872 Specimens of Wood Type.
