Ideal Cutter not cutting straight

Hey all! I have an Ideal Cutter 4850 and am having issues with a straight cut. Paper comes out angled…not good. Takes more time to fix each trim.

I do know the blade is pretty low on the last sharpening and need to replace once it is dull. The back gauges has been adjusted the best I know how, but paper still manages to get trimmed unevenly.

Do you all have any suggestions or know of anyone locally that can look at this and make the necessary adjustments? I am also going to post this in classifieds. Thank you all!

Don’t know were locally is, but you may have blade draw because of insufficent clamp pressure - or - certain stocks - rags, softer cover stocks create more blade drag than harder offset or bonds, you can try and experiment to see if this is the issue by CAREFULLY wiping down the blade with silicon or something similar and making a cut on waste stock. Check for squareness after the first cut. If this solved the problem it could be a dull knife or you need a different grind angle for cutting softer stocks. I have other suggestions if this doesn’t work, always hated to pay for service calls unless the equipment was DRT (dead right there).

Thanks Chuck. I will keep you posted once I try this out.
