Cuts & Corrosion
Dear Printing Enthusiasts,
• Can these be saved?
• If so, what is the best way to remove the corroded part?
• Is there a proper storage method?
• What type of metal/plate/exposure is the blue-colored one?
Thank you!

1. Not likely. At least not easily.
2.Some folks have reported an abrasive eraser.
3. I leave mine inked up and then clean them just before using. Others have advocated coating them with petroleum jelly and storing them in zip-loc baggies. The key is keeping moisture and oxygen away from the cut. But eventually they will corrode.
4. Both are magnesium. I’ve switched completely to copper.
