real beginner wants to make sense of whole letterpress procedure, pls help

Hi
I am really new to letterpress and grew up in culture where letterpress never existed (or I am never able to find it in local)so I can only use my imagination how the procedure would be. please bear with me if my question sounds completely stupid)I am very glad finding this forum that I can leave a question.

what I found about the procedure from reading and searching this forum is

1. digital file preparation with software programs like illustrator
2. transparent film printing
3, images and texts engraved on polymer plate from the film
4. print on paper with the plate, done!

if until here is right,,it was not waste of time I spent on this forum for days. ok what I want to know is

I know how to use adobe illustrator but not have any experience in printing with it also with offset printing so..letterpress is real challenging..!!
im particularly interested in blind emboss and foil coating and my future project would use these two a lot..
i wonder how i can prepare eps or pdf file with adobe illustrator for blind emboss effect or foil coating?( for example, is there a layer I need to add?) or am i completely wrong with my imagination how it works..i mean is it matter of something I need to discuss in person with printer?

maybe I am not even knowing what I want to ask here……
uff… too much desire to start but not know much…
please help for my struggling:-<

the thing is i can only be involved with digital file preparation for my project as I need to outsource everything else.
(im located in korea) but it shouldnt be a problem where the location is..as i think most of designers outsource the rest,no? also one more question.
are most letterpress studio also make the plate too? my project will be very small and may need to collaborate with small printer who could print each design only one piece.

ok my questions were 2.
1. digital file preparation for emboss and foil effect. if its something possible to do with illustrator let me know how to do so( or is this not a work can be done from digital file? need to talk to human! who put pressure on paper???)

2. platemaking and letterpress mostly done in one company or i need to look for them separately?

apologies for if this was already answered in the forum previously….

also many thanks for reading my bad english *____* any advice would be appreciated.

have wonderful day!!!!!!
