C & P Roller Specification

I have recently purchased a beautiful Chandler & Price 10 x 15 letterpress, which I have been restoring for the past several months (soda blasting worked very well). The number on it is C7246 so I believe it is a 1930s new style press… is that right? I am desperate to find out what the specification for the rollers for this press is as I have found someone who is making them for me, however, he now needs the rubber specification (he has already copied the steel cores), which I haven’t been able to find from anywhere. Here is a photo of the press… would love to hear your advice.

Great thank you so very much Dennis. Is there a specific type of rubber that should be used? I have sent this link to my contact so hopefully it will make sense to him….thank you again!

Vulcanized nitrile is pretty commonly used for rubber rollers.

Brad.

I would have suggested NAGraphics for ready made rollers too. I have them on my C&P’s and they are superb. I must say the excelsiorpress site listed above is just a great resource. Thanks Dennis for posting it.
