Moving 10x15 os C&P across Australia

I am planning to move a 10x15 os Chandler and price across the country (Queensland to Western Australia) around the same distance from New York to California (as the crow flies)
I have found ample info on DIY transport most of which say to avoid tail lifts & forklifts but is there any advice for using large long distance transport companies? I moved a Golding Pearl #3 successfully across the country. I had it crated but it is a much smaller lighter press.

Thans in advance,
Davina

You want machinery movers and not household goods movers. We speak of the men who lift and load and secure as riggers. They will most likely use a fork lift as they are quite familiar with them. It can be safe. They must understand that your iron contraption is top heavy and is made from brittle cast iron.
I would explore insurance.

Sorry folks
I am a printer, not a puter guy. I don’t think I punched it up twice (must have), but I don’t know how to erase the second posting. I hope it is good advice and worth reading twice.

Well it happened. I ended up getting a crane-truck to pick and take to the depo in Queensland, load it onto large transporter truck, drive across Australia to Western Australian depo, then onto another crane truck for safe transport and delivery to me!. The cost was somewhere between ‘ouch’ and ‘yowee!!’

Moving one out of our shop I watched my dad tip one over and broke the shaft after telling him to take off the big flywheel before moving it.It seems that the smaller c&p presses tip easier than bigger ones I have a 18 x 22 1/2 C&P I pulled it on a flat bed side ways at about 10 to 15 degrees if the chain ever broke (good by) but it rode 100 miles just fine with just 2 tie-downs 1”x 10” x 4’ plank under each side. slid under front on through to the back leg.lag bolted down. but on a small C&P I would go from side leg to other side leg .with the planks. if one ever did tip over,,,just let it go.be safe but with 1”x10”x4’ plank under each side it should ride fine……….plus with the planks under it you can put rollers under them and move it with one hand, easy as pie.
