How much are you willing to pay?
I am planning to purchase a new C&P tabletop press, but I don’t know how much I am willing to pay for it….
How much would you be willing to
pay for a restored C&P Pilot Press?

I can only speak for myself but personally I wouldn’t pay the exorbitant prices many people are asking for a restored tabletop press. Even if I had the cash on hand I wouldn’t. The machines were built to last and as long as I find a press is complete and in mechanically sound shape it being rusty is a minor issue to me. You can strip, prime, and paint a small one in a weekend. Sure you might not get to print something on day one. It might need new rollers and trucks but overall restoring a small press is not a big deal.
In my humble opinion there are two general types of press sellers. Those that think their press is a valuable antique and worth top dollar and nothing less, and those that are happy to make a few bucks and see it go to a person that will use and appreciate it.
Like I said, I can only speak for myself, good luck!
