Type decisions

When I bought my press it also came with quite a bit of type. All in drawers and case. I’m now going through it and am wondering a couple of things. Should I keep it even if there is not much? If not, then where can I get rid of it or donate it? Some of it is not identified so what is the best source for identification?

Your first task is to identify what you have - McGrew’s “American Typefaces of the 20th Century” is the standard reference. Then you will need to assess whether or not it is in good condition.

Offering type free (locally) on Craig’s List might be a good way of divesting yourself of what you don’t care to keep.

Good luck!
