C&P extra parts?

I bought a 14.5x22 in pieces a while back, and now it’s all restored and assembled, and I’ve got a stack of large steel plates (roughly 25x16”) left over. I’m guessing they have nothing to do with this press, but I thought I’d ask if any of you have seen something like these.

I have one each at 0.5”, 0.75” 1.0” and 1.125” thick. They are all very flat, the smallest one has chamfer all around. They are all wide enough to fit between the rails and slightly taller than the platen or bed. A couple have 4 holes in them, but there are no tapped holes on the press anywhere for these to be used as a base or jacket of some kind. The largest one is cast with ribs in the back (shown) and has the part number Z707 cast in it.

It’s clear these were used for something; I just don’t know if it had anything to do with printing. Let me know if this rings a bell with any of you.
