No. 2 Vandercook proof press
Is there anyway to adjust the cylinder on my Vandercook proof press so the impression is equal on both sides. There is a impression imbalance from one side to the other.

I have a Vandercook No. 2 proof press. There are adjusting cams to hold the impression cylinder in position when it makes a pass over the page. They adjust the rollers that anchor the cylinder to the press bed. I am curious about how much of a difference you have when the cylinder is in the resting position over the bed and what kind of base or type you are using. When in a resting position over the bed, mine is out by between 2 and 3 thousands of an inch, quite easy to pack.
