Hoe 151

As mentioned earlier this Hoe No.151 was found in a barn in
North East Ohio. It is a Model No. 1 Foolscap Washington
Iron Hand Press. It was found in very good condition with
tympan and frisket frame and only one minor broken bolt.
It has been refurbished and is being printed on at the Morgan
Paper Conservatory in Cleveland, Ohio. I still can not believe
it has survived 175 years in this condition. That about 25 years before the Civil War 1836 ca.

I would love to get a sharp high-resolution photo that shows the entire press from the front, so I can compare it with other early Hoe presses, both Washingtons and Smiths, to see how it compares. For example the decorations were also used on a number of similar-vintage Smith presses. Good photos really help with such studies.
