5 Part NCR - Goldenrod

Today I was running a 5 part rev. NCR job on my V-50. The only problem is on every third set the Goldenrod sheet would not feed into the grippers. I would stop the press, place it back on the stack correctly and try again. It would work until the third set came up when the Goldenrod sheet would once again not feed into the grippers.

All the other colors run and print with no problem. The Goldenrod gets pick up and placed on the transfer table and it will not feed into the grippers.

It took me an hour to run the 500 sets on NCR.

Sometimes the different colors of NCR stock are not all cut to precisely the same measure, or may have an odd curl to it from the way it was sheeted. It appeared that you were stymied by the sheeting (curl).

Not sure what could be done, aside from have a piece of 6 pt reglet under the pile just behind where the gripper lands, and maybe more blower than usual. Another trick to “breaking” a stack of poor feeding stock is to have a sticker (reglet or folded stock) centered the long way under the stack—paper grain will determine what will (or won’t) work.

However, you got the job through, and didn’t lose any in the process!

You might be right on the cutting of the Goldenrod.

It was 5 Part Reverse Precollated NCR. So, it was driving me crazy, four sheet pick up print deliver perfect, than the goldenrod, bad feed to the gripper, press stops.

Do that for 100 sets, and it gets old very fast.
