edge painting on duplex paper

has anyone edge painted on duplex paper. Does the seam cause problems? I am trying to quote a job and they want double thick colored paper that doesn’t come 220lb so I need to duplex and then edge paint.

I have, but it was a thick “gilding” paint called Rub’n’Buff on a hard calendered paper. I printed my own business cards on 98 Lb Petallics cover, manually duplexed it after printing and then painted and buffed the edges to make them look gilded. You can just barely make out the seam, but it’s hard to see. Thinner paint or ink would likely have shown the seam more.

I have done it, it’s usually not very noticeable depending on the method you are using to duplex and the paint also helps quite a bit.
