Much more interesting is that one can cover the bottom half of the x height or more of an ordinary line and its still perfectly readable pretty much at normal speed.
As for the Guardian newspaper … .

One also learns words by the shape of the gap between last letter of previous word and first letter of subsequent word…
.it is part of…human brain has a propensity to be delusional…self decieving and assumptive…not going to go into politics examples here….people hear but not listen ..listen but not hear( often I ask students to PRINT their names in block capitols in 1 column but they scrawl their signatures across 2 columns so it tells me who is switched on)….to be over realistic and overoptimistic….they look but do not see and see but do not look…….oh boy.
