I have a Vandercook no. 0 that works well but I really should get the roller re-covered. Can anyone tell me the proper way to remove the roller? Since the part holding the roller appears to be a one-piece casting, it seems I will have to remove the bearings. Is that correct? Can I pry out the circular insert that surrounds the bearings without dislodging the bearings? I am likely using wrong terminology so I hope my questions make sense—I will attach some photos.
I will appreciate any tips on how to do this.
