HELP -ink dish not rotating C&P old style 1904
This has never happened before. My press is working fine, and the pulley is working, it is just not pushing enough to get a full rotation. I’ll try to add a video. Has this happened to anyone before?

Have you oiled the disc stem? Apply a generous (but not messy) amount of oil around the stem where it seats into the bracket. There can be plenty of gunk (ink, dust, cleaning fluid, etc) that finds its way into this space and creates just enough friction to slow the disc. Also your disc probably won’t have a full rotation on each print… more like 1/8th or 1/4 rotation.
If you post a video to YouTube I’m sure we can collectively figure it out.
Bradley.
I agree—if you haven’t oiled the disc stem in a while, you may want to take the disc off, clean the stem and the inside of the bracket it sits in, and apply a little oil. The pawl that advances the disk gets worn as well, and the top of the pawl is meant to be replaced if it is worn down.
Spot on! Thank you both! This fixed the problem! exactly right.. It was getting slowed down in the gunk.
