Rider Roller problem,

So I have a 10x15 Heidelberg Windmill Press, and been using it for a while learning the personality of the machine. Now I have gotten to the point where I need to address some issues one being the Rider Roller. So what happens is I ink up the machine, engage the lock out and place the rider on the rollers (light pressure tightening it). I start her up and the rollers start to skip. It will spin on the big drum but as soon as the rollers move off the drum it will stop spinning and literally skip down the track. I tried no pressure when setting the rider and it would do the same thing, I tried not tightening the bolts as tight and the roller would loosen and fall out of place.

I am still new at this so my terminology may be off, but I can’t seem to figure out what the problem is.

If this was my problem, I would first take the rider rollers off and see if the rollers without any problems. The gears might need cleaning.

On the ink drum it so strong it coming the rollers in a way you think it rolling.

I’d ensure the the bearings in the forme rollers are in good shape. The trucks and rails should be clean and oil-free.

A lubrication point that is easy to overlook are the felt pads within the roller arms, accessed through the holes in the top of the arms. Ensure the roller arms extend and retract smoothly and completely.
