Albion press value

Dear all. My beloved Albion has to go! It is something I’ve avoided for a while but due to a serious downsize I no longer have room for the lovely object. Which has given me years of pleasure and served me well including a number of RA summer exhibition successes. Sigh!!

Anyway, although I realise some posts have been included here for guidance I am really not sure (considering the changing market) what to ask for it. I guessed about £5K…? But really haven’t a clue.
It is an 1877 11” x 17” by Frank Ullmer in perfect working order. It has everything with it… Frisket, Tympan etc. I don’t want to risk auction sites like eBay so would probably place a classified here.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you are in England then Harry Rochat in High Barnet would probably be your best bet… they specialise in this sort of thing (and even make new Albion presses) - and run a ‘presses available’ list too… their email is [email protected], and they have a good website.. http://www.harryrochat.com/

Thanks for that… I’ll give them a try

Hi,
I think £5k is top whack for your press. Be flexible on the price but £4k is nearer the mark.
Yes Rochat will probably advertise it for you.
It depends how keen you are to sell of course!
Jeremy

Thanks Jeremy

I’m fine with flexible pricing… just didn’t know where to start. Useful information. Thank you
