Heidelberg GT (13×18) Updated Manual + Parts List

Hi everyone,

This is going to sound odd, but I’ve been working on an updated and much-cleaned up version of the GT manual and parts list for a while (incorporating as many details - including on trouble shooting and current vendors - as I have been able to gather from experience and research).

The GT I purchased some 2-3 years ago was in such a poor state that I have had to disassemble, clean out, repair, and reassemble quite a lot of the components, purchase available spare parts, produce some new parts, and even have some manufactured (too many really). And the poor quality of the GT parts list available on the web (and the sometimes-odd German translation of the manual) was driving me nuts. My machine works perfectly now, but it was a bit of a slog.

I’m aware that most of you have the T (10×15) model, so this might not be terribly relevant to you. (In case you’re curious, the GT has 473 parts that are different from the T - and 487 in common… I counted ;-) ). But if you have a 13×18, I’d be more than happy to share when I complete it in a week’s time.

All best,
Christian

Hello Christian I really look forward to seeing your work, good luck

Don’t forget that the larger (GT) uses many of the same parts and assemblies, some modified, that are found on the original smaller press. Most of what is true for one is true for the other.
Just keep printing!
Frank.

Hi Nipi
Just sent you a DM… email me.
All best,
Christian

Hi everyone,
Okay, even as they’re still works in progress, I’ve uploaded three files to my website at https://www.tollundpress.com/gt-corner. I’ve uploaded the GT Parts Book in Excel, the Parts Book (with illustrations) as a PDF, and the adapted/revised manual for the GT. Let me know if you see any errors, etc. and I hope you’ll find them useful.

Very nice, Christian

Glad you liked it… I’m updating and tweaking it weekly (at this point). I have a number of excess manufactured parts (trucks/runners for inking rollers, journals for top rollers, 440mm grippers, brass lay gauges (soon), etc.) if you ever find yourself as a GT person in a pinch and have anything you want to swap.
