Missing Feed table stop

I’m following the instructions in the manual for changing to using the bottom guides. The first step says to adjust the feed table to touch the stop. I think this stop is missing from my press. I took a few pictures. can someone perhaps measure and tell me where to align the left feed table if i’m using brass guides?

LINE YOUR STOCK UP ABOUT 1/8” IN FROM THE EDGE OF YOUR FEED TABLE AND YOU SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO. Dick G.

That air valve in the picture should run straight up, i’ve never changed that position, the other one on the other side of the press is the only one i use. Dick G.

Thank you, can you tell me where I should position the stock if i’m using the nickel guides? I thought I had the brass ones but they are the nickel ones.

Nickel gauges are not the easiest to use. They will hold the stock higher on the top sheet, so you need to move your stock over about 1/8” to the right in the feeder. Check the yellow pages on this site, there might be someone selling parts for windmills, if you go to Heidleburg you will pay dearly, There is a company in Massachusetts i think its Graphic Repair, in Leominister, they might sell parts. There are a lot of times you gan get away with not using the gauges and simple run your stock in the center, the gauges will register perfect where running off gauges you can get a little variation but not bad for most single color stuff. good luck Dick G.

When I take a line-gauge to the inside edge of my feed standard set to the nickel guide position, it is 95mm in from the left edge of the feed/delivery board.

The gripper will open and drop the sheet into the guides, so it doesn’t need to be exact, the guides do the work in register. Just make sure it’s not too far over (the guides will contact the paper before the gripper opens, crushing the bottom edge) or too far in (the paper might not make it to the guides before it’s printed.)
