Removing Trucks from Rollers

Hi there!

I recently acquired a C&P Pilot and am trying to replace the rollers. I was able to get two of the trucks off the ends (one slid off, the other took some work), but the other two won’t budge at all. They’re crusty with grease and ink. Should I use mineral spirits or other cleaner to try to remove those? Any other suggestions? I’m worried I’ll damage them by using any kind of tool to grab them.

Thanks!

Try a penetrating oil like liquid wrench, let them soak in it for a while. Dick G.

If Dick’s solution doesn’t work then try a small gear puller. That’s what I typically use!

if there metal trucks your gonna want to replace them with plastic anyways……the core will be most important to keep in good order
