What are these (right angle things)?

Recently, I purchased a type cabinet that has a case full of ornaments. In with the ornaments are about a dozen L-shaped steel brackets. Each leg of the “L” is about 1/2” long, and the metal for the brackets themselves is about 6 points thick. What are these? Possibly for holding borders tight against a form?

Thanks,
Jason Hibbeler

you guessed right.

They’re called corner quads, can be used to hold mitered rules in alignment.

It would be unusual for these corner quads to be steel, however. They generally were made of typemetal.

They are most-likely lead and not steel.

I looked again, and you’re right (they are typemetal).

Thanks for the info.
