Rollers for a Vandercook SP25 G

Hey All!

I’m on the verge of buying my first press, a Vandercook SP25 G. I still haven’t seen it in person, but I’ve been told it’s in very good condition. However, I suspect it will need new rollers (it should have the cores). How much are new rollers going to cost, and where do I get them from? Any input would be tremendously helpful.
Thanks!

You definitely want to inspect the press for damage to any critical part.
Consider getting Paul Moxon’s book on Vandercook presses.
http://vandercookpress.info/vanderblog/literature/book/
And the manual for your particular press from NA Graphics.
Paul mentions checking things like the carriage not having play, wear to the under rails, oscillator, (hopefully nothing’s missing), check for rust, and general things like that, and evaluate how good the condition is.
Rollers will probably set you back a couple hundred dollars each. You can order them through NA Graphics also: http://order.nagraph.com/rollers-trucks-cores.html

Good luck!

This sounds like a 325G.
