How does the Hiedelberg Windmill gripper mechanism work?

I know the mechanism of the press should be left to mechanics, but how could one adjust the closing and opening time of the grippers of a Heidelberg windmill in the middle of the night, and a print job that this due tomorrow morning, after the pressman has just bump the grippers out of working position?

The mechanic fixed this for my press in half an hour, like having a walk in the park.

That depends on what you have done to the grippers a are they bent in the arms or b has the bolt inside the shell been bent that has the little pawl that holds the arms in the correct relationship to the edge of the chase when the platen closes ? The problems that a smash bring are many fold ,i manage to repair those that are caused by accident and the operator tells me what he did ,even with my experience i find it difficult to find the damage without having the operator tell me what he did , reversing the press too far creates one type of damage , hitting the chase that was not clipped into the press during makeready will create different damage . how you fix either problem depends what you damaged.
