Washington Press

I help with a letterpress exhibit in Elnora, IN and we have just acquired a Washington press and I believe it is missing some parts for the printing, the frisket and the piece that holds the paper for printing and we have no documentation for the press is there someone who could help us out.
Thank you
Dawson

Until you can get direct help, read the several books by Richard-Gabriel Rummonds on the iron hand press.

I have gathered quite a bit of information about Washington hand presses and have moved several. I have information about making replacement tympan and frisket and about restoring the rest of the press. I would like to help you, as well as add the press to my North American Hand Press Database, which records over 1230 hand presses including several hundred Washington presses. You can contact me through Briar Press.
