Challenge Champion 305 cutter issue

Help! I have a Challenge Champion 305 MB cutter and it turns on and the blade goes down a little bit before going back up. So it’s not coming all the way down to cut. Anyone have any experience with this type of cutter?

I had a similar problem with my power cutter and found that a complete oiling of the places the blade comes in contact with when it moves up and down solved the problem.

Much the same as Fritz, the grease on the blade carrier slides had dried out, answer was a good clean and regrease.

Be sure to check the hydraulic fluid level first. Bring the clamp down with foot pedal. As you do have someone look at the hose lines in the back for fluid leaks. Do the same with the cut buttons. As it tries to cut have someone on the back look for fluid leaks.
