It’s an early Old Style Pearl. It’s likely either a 5 x 8 or a 7 x 11 chase. They made both in this time period. It’s either a tabletop or a floor press. Again, they made both then. Tabletop Pearls are more difficult to find than the floor models. Pearls are one of the most successful presses ever made. They are still very popular today and are capable of fine printing. If a floor model, treadle operation is preferred. Parts are available from me and other sources. You can read more at my website for Golding presses. http://www.perennialdesigns.net/?page_id=414
It is a table-top press, no drawers. If you check my name (Barbara Connor) I have a photo of the press. I will attempt to attach an image. I also (if able to ) attached an image of a type cabinet I have. I had to stand on something, and photograph it from the side. In it there is type. Any idea of their worth?

It seems you may be having trouble getting us a picture to look at. I may be able to help with value. I have purchased quite a few Pearls including a tabletop from this time period. It may be easier for you to email me some pictures. [email protected] I can offer my opinion and post the pictures here for others that may want to contribute their experience. I can tell you without seeing it, that there are not a lot of tabletop Pearls sold. I am not sure if its because people seldom part with them, or there simply aren’t many left out there. If I had to guess I’d say a little of each applies here.
Actually I did start one for Pearls on our Pearl restoration forum. (inbetween getting all traces of ink off my presses) It just doesn’t include all Golding models.
This sounds like an Oldstyle. Does it have wooden drawers? Does the chase measure 5x8, 5x9, or 7x11?
Some photos would be great!

someone needs to start a register of goldings that are still around (John), kind of like the one for hand presses.
