Improved Model No. 1 Letterpress

Hello,

I need help identifying a letterpress that I have recently acquired from a friend. The only imprint on the press is “Improved Model No. 1”. I currently do not have an image to upload, but if one is needed, I would be glad to post one. Any information, including approx. value would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Look at the pictures in the “Museum” section of this website. You may be able to identify it from one of the press pictures there.

If not, post a picture and maybe one of the contributors here can identify it.

Here a link to my flickr with some photos of the Model Press.

The Model presses were patented 1874 in USA by William Clark and Joshua Daughaday and 1877 in UK by Giuseppe Squintani. The US versions were manufactured by J.W. Daughaday & Co, Philadelphia and the English versions by The Model Printing Press Co, London EC.
