Potter Press Gripes, grippers, & other repro parts

It appears that the Potter that I had been promised will be coming to Inkknife Studio after all. It will cost us 33% more than the original agreed price but it’s better than loosing it altogether.

The original owner, to his credit, approached the current owner and I will be getting it for what the current owner paid. No offer so far from the original owner to refund the difference which only underscores his essential motivation in breaking the original deal. Get it in writing folks! Sometimes people forget but ordinarily it’s just duplicity. He did, however, move to somehow remedy the issue. I don’t have all day to roll in the mud. I just want to get the studio’s presses working.

So as soon as I pick it up I’ll send out detailed photos and measured drawings so those who have contacted me can confirm that this #2 Potter is exactly the model they have.
There appears to be more than one Model #2

I am still looking for someone willing to let me to use their delivery board brackets to produce patterns for casting.

Thanks for all the follow up leads and suggestions.

I think John Barrett at Letterpress Things has a lead on a couple of really nice Potter presses. You should speak to him.

I’ve been trying to get information to do the same to mine - I have some of the parts, but only some… People have given me photographs of details - but it is still hard to work out. What I really need is to watch one in operation to see how it all goes together - but that’s a little hard here in New Zealand…
